Damp squib..

So got up as usual to go running just as i got my bits together the heavens opened and have not stopped...its torrential rain. Trying to be half full not half empty gal I leave home with the trusty Tilly in tow and off we go to the park..but I cannot run in this amount of rain, just getting out the car and getting bits together I am soaked so decide to power walk with a brolly as a compromise. Now for the issue, what and where do i get lightweight waterproof running gear from, is there such a thing!! I only just got myself fully kitted out for the summer heat a few weeks ago and now its all change again. Cold and dry I can cope with but the rain.....horrendous. As usual all tips and info gratefully received. :D

Good excuse to buy some new gear!! I will be interested in any answers you get since I need a waterproof jacket. Horizontal rain here last week - but I did still run!

I wondering about this too Jmiss as I have only run in this glorious summer we have had with only one run in light warm rain.....read somewhere recently not to worry about waterproofs as you get wet anyway and you sweat more in them so interested in replies too......glad you had your power walk though, sure Tilly loved it 😀

Sports Direct sell some sensible priced Karimor running jackets...

But I rarely use mine to be honest. I either get soaked from the rain if I don't wear one, or get soaked from additional perspiration if I do wear one.

Hope this helps

Lightweight hooded run jacket, or one without hood and buy a peaked cap. I got mine from Aldi for £6.99 Sportsdirect has them all year round and they will have inexpensive ones. A pocket or two will be a boon ☺

A long sleeved running top and long run tights will be required as well for running in colder conditions. I tie my run jacket round my middle if I get too hot
