All the bloomin Ks I've clocked up and I go and pull a muscle whilst half asleep!! I think I was stretching my left leg out and suddenly it was like a mild electric shock as my inside top of thigh went kindof 'twang' - and now it's been niggling pain all day - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - so it looks like I'm on the bench for a few days :( Anyone else managed to do this or is it just me? :)

Were you running in your sleep?! Not done this myself but hoping you are feeling better soon. Guess rest is about all you can do.

That's interesting....I had something similar happen. I had a sudden cramps in my sleep which was painful and certainly didn't help my already sore leg (muscle/tendon strain behind the knee). I reckon I didn't stretch enough after my runs.

Ahhh, well that is interesting because I'd only just been saying to my hubby that since actually starting this running malarkey I'd not had any incidents of leg cramps in the night....and then went right on and did this to my bloody leg.....grrrr....I'm really good at stretching after my runs these days too so as to keep injury at bay....

Happened to me in my first week as I turned over in bed, am relieved to know I'm not alone. That's when I discovered this forum and realised I wasn't stretching enough.

I often over-stretch in bed, never twanged anything though..! Massage maybe, and a day's rest, and see how you go:)

I tore a ligament in my back while sneezing, 8 1/2 months pregnant at the time though (a good few years ago, she's just turned 18), so you're not alone. I've had the odd cramp/muscle spasm that has resulted in a few days of DOMs type symptoms as well. It seems fairly common.
