I completed C25K a few years ago and was running three times a week until June of last year when my left knee just lost it on a hill and left me in agony. After six months recovery I was able to start running again - slowly and on the flat. By January I was back doing slow 5Ks ...this morning I did my 80th 5K of 2016. I still remember how I struggled to run 60 seconds in Wk1 and how when I did the 20 minute run in Wk5 I was over the moon. Everyone says of the C25K 'if I can do it....' but it's true - you can do it!

Not sure what was(is) wrong with it - had the same problem on and off for about 40 years - it usually sorts itself out in days rather than months. It's only the left one that ever gives me jip. I've been advised to run (not sprint) on the flat, with tight fitting (aka no foot movement) shoes in order to avoid torque on the knee joint - so far this is working....
