I knew i was going out last night and would not have the time to do my 2nd stint of week 1 so feeling determined and flushed with the success of completing W1R1 and not wanting to lose momentum i set my alarm a wee bit earlier and headed out in the am....yes you read that right....in the AM!!
I can't say i jumped outta bed at 5:30 full of positivity, if anything i was feeling positively negative and was already mentally getting my excuses for failure ready. But i did it and you know what, i didn't mind it one bit. It was such a beautiful morning, nice and frosty and everywhere looked so pretty so that it helped take my mind off what i was doing. I'm used to get up a later in the mornings (6:30) and taking the dog for a nice leisurely stroll before work so i think she was as shocked as i was at the change of routine
I can also see the benefit of freeing time up in the evening to get the dinner so the other half isn't stuck doing it all the time and also for getting my breakfast / lunch / snacks ready for the next day which is taking longer than usual because of all the weighing and writing to keep track of everything in my calorie counting food diary.
Soooooo, the alarm is going to go beep beep beep early again tomorrow and i'm going to head out in the AM once again.....hopefully it will be as good a session as yesterday morning

I find the sense of wellbeing after a morning run lasts all day, so it's a win win! Isn't weighing stuff out boring? After a few weeks on a healthy eating/calorie counting new lifestyle you can guess/measure/judge without having all the faff. Keep the faith!
Wow, u r truly dedicated to running, addictive, isn't it? When I have an early morning run,mi get out everything I need to wear the night before, so I can put it on with no need to search! Always run before breakfast so I have a treat to look forward to
wouldnt really say dedicated.....but it is nice to know it's done, dusted and outta the way. Feels like a necessary evil at the moment Sometimes i think the planning and looking ahead is the worst thing, building it up in my head to something massive when the reality is no where near as bad. Looking forward to the day when i can just don the gear and head out because i WANT to and not because i NEED to I couldn't run after eating, strugle to eat early but before a run.....no chance. Thanks for your message.
I know we need the walk breaks at the beginning otherwise we would pass out but look forward to the day when you just do a warm up walk, run, cool down walk. It is so easy to go out for a 30 minute walk, no messing about with timing and you can really go so much further. Might not seem possible but you will be able to run for 30 minutes very soon 😀
