Just a quick post to say that it was great to meet fellow C25Kers today! I had a fun time! it was B****y freezing at times and it took some willpower to keep on going- i felt happier once i had got past 5k, but i knew i could get round if i stuck at it, and Boz accompanied me at my(much slower than his!) pace as hes only run once since his seized up back cleared up! and he didn't even nag or say "come on" very often(well maybe a little at the final 500m mark!) My calf been stiff the past week but with compression sock on it behaved fine !
It was nice to see some of the sights of London, the 2nd half past St Pauls and along the Thames were the bits i enjoyed most, it was really busy but not too much of a crushed in feeling! the snowzones were not as impressive as they might have been but that didn't really matter!
We all met up before and after and Realfoodieclub came along to support us and even brought us homemade chocolate cake for after! Lovely! Some of us went to the pub to chat and have dinner(and argue the merits of a cup of tea with Miles_Yonder! can't change his mind though! and lovely chats with No-Excuse my buddy right from the start of c25k!) and a well deserved drink(i'd also been to Mcdonalds for hot choc and doughnut first! those hard earnt calories may well be back on now , along with the cheesy chips!)
my chip time says 1hr 1 min38 secs, so i'll take that, as its 12 secs off my Bournemouth 10k, and i wasn't expecting that so chuffed! had a lazy afternoon(even a lie down on the sofa!) and now sat waiting for my lovely Bruv John to finish dinner, so all is well! Off to see my college pal from 24 yrs ago tomorrow then heading home on tuesday! and rest of the week off as holiday so lovely
All i can add is that the forum buddies here are just as lovely in real life as on this forum, and my life is better for the whole c25k experience! My even enter the Eastleigh 10k in march to keep me going!
