Walking a lot is a good plan.  I borrow my neighbour's dog which is good training for non run days    The local dog pound always welcomes volunteer dog walkers ☺  I have a car but hardly use it these days as I can run or walk most places

There are plenty of older runners here. I think Bazzer is the oldest.  He runs regularly having been a C25k graduate.  Have a read through the posts as there's plenty of inspiration here about the what doing c25k plan can mean to people.

Healthy eating is key to good health as well so clean up your eats/drinks, crack on with c25k, walk more and maybe dust off your bike or water wings.  It's all good ☺

You just have to make change

You're fit and you walk a lot. Sounds like you should put your trainers on, download the programme and get started! Once you've got going, you soon get hooked - report back here for encouragement :)

Yeah! Pompoms flaying for you here :) WELL DONE! I reckon you'll be feeling ready to take on the next run after one day of rest, but if you need a second day, do so. It's not a race, and you need to be kind to your body until it gets over the shock and remembers what it can do.

Hi Westie, I'm an OAP and graduated today.  Like yourself I walked a lot and embarked on c25k in January.  Just follow Laura's instructions, take It slow and steady, forget about measuring speed or distance. All that matters is the length of time you are running.  You will do this once you set your mind to it.

Plenty of us oldies on here. I think Bazza is father of the house, and Patrick is close to graduating.

It's a great programme. Just take it at your own speed. Extra rest days are helpful, but it's perfectly possible. Good luck!

The idea of walking on the days you don't run is an excellent. Go for it!
