Short term memory.

I wish there was a way of bottling how I feel when I get in from a run. I haven't been for 2 weeks, the first because I had a throat infection and the second because I used work as an encase. Within this time I ate loads of junk, take-aways and chippy. Why? Why do I do this to myself and then pretend to be surprised when I put weight on? Yesterday I did week 5 run 1 again as this was the last run I did and I felt invincible when I got home like I could take on the world. I get all inspired to take better care of myself in terms of exercise, diet and even take a bit more care of my appearance. Come 7pm though, when littleuns gone to bed and I'm craving pizza or Chinese; it's like I completely forget the sense of achievement I felt in less than a day! Don't know what the solution is, maybe really making sure I run every other day without fail to really embed new habits. Anyway, rest day today so just need resist crap! X

Stock your fridge with fruit and veggies, pantry with nuts and seeds. Yes, you can always order in, but fresh fruit and veggies aren't cheap and if you find yourself throwing large quantities away because you ate junk instead, that's going to hurt. The trick is to ignore the voices saying "I won't buy more produce because I'm just going to throw it out anyway" and, quite frankly, eating it even when you want junk food.

It's not easy, but if you resist the cravings for a couple of weeks you'll find yourself wanting to eat healthy because you'll be able to see and feel the effects of eating healthy + exercising. If you want pizza, have a slice instead of depriving yourself completely. Moderation and will power.

How about going to bed yourself with a good book and then getting a good night's sleep? As adults we are often big kids about sleep! We want to stay up late to prove we are grown up.

Good strategy to focus on how good running makes you feel and to focus on running regularly to get that feeling more often.

I tend to snack on a few raw carrots when I get hungry at night time, maybe try that?

Also I like to think that it's good to feel hungry as that when I am losing weight.

All good advice above - maybe check out Rosemary Conley on line club? There is a cost involved but I find it a really good resource. All sorts of information, lots of different diets because one size does not fit all!, videos , recipes and articles. The food and exercise tracker really helps to keep me motivated.

Best of luck - losing weight isn't easy

Always trying to resist crap food when away from home! Discovered black grapes: Sable which are in sainsburys they are so sweet and delicious they really satisfy my sweet tooth. Trouble is I could eat the lot in a sitting they're very moreish but I reason it's better than a packet of biscuits. at my Fat Club you have to ask yourself which you want more: weight loss or that pizza. Preparation is key. Have go to stuff in the fridge and don't let yourself get too hungry or you will eat silly stuff.

I have a set list of music I run with every time. if I play that in the evening it sometimes brings that feeling back and stops me snacking
