... running in Bucharest, Romania.

This evening I had the opportunity to run around the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest, famous for being the world's largest civilian building. With the added leg up and down the wide, tree-lined Boulevard Unirii this was about 4.5km, a little shorter than it appeared on the map.

The run was noteable for the awesome scale of the palace, the complete lack of other runners and the beauty of the architecture, avenues and boulevards. Oh, and for not getting run over crossing 8 lanes of traffic.

Who would have expected this running lark would see us C25k'ers running all over the world?? 18 months ago I'd have just been sitting in a bar after a day's work. Thankyou Laura.

Enjoy you running everyone, and don't forget to post tales of where you've run and what you've seen.

Mark

You are getting around! Well done - did you take any photos?

I very rarely the the opportunity for taking photos. Funnily, on my 'Downton Abbey' 10km run at Highclere Castle, a number of runners stopped to get a snap of the house.

My company has office all around the world, and so I like to collect runs in cities that I go to. Bucharest is particularly beautiful when you ignore the Soviet-era buildings.

What an amazing place to run. Years ago spent a freezing cold night at the airport in Bucharest - just after the revolution and there were still holes in the roof.

I'm staying in the JW Marriott Grand. The only holes will be in my wallet :-)

That looks like a beautiful run. I can totally relate to the joy of getting out there seeing a bit of the place in your running shoes instead of just crashing after work. Well done Mark :)

I love getting the chance to run somewhere different. I went to Budapest earlier this year & going for a run there was fantastic. I'm off to Egypt in January, the New York in June then a huge trip around South America - my running stuff will be packed for all of those trips!
