So I started running just under a year ago. I can now happily run 10k (shocked myself). However my diet has gone backwards due to a new job (in an office ) which means I am not as active as I used to be. I still take part in numerous runs, such as Wolf run, Colour run, race for life and so on.. And I still enjoy taking part in them and have quite a list for 2016. I have now done my last race of the year, and my first race of 2016 is a half marathon. So I really need to train, however I am really struggling to find motivation to train.. any advice? :)

Yes, get a training plan to give you some kind of timetable which hopefully will make you more likely to stick to it. Bupa or myasics

offer free plans which are structured. The myasics ones tell you when to run and how fast so it takes all the thinking out of it. You just pitch up and run then feed your stats back into the online thing they give you. All free and you get quick feedback as to how you are performing and regular tweaks depending on how you do

Food wise it will be better for your running performance and all-round good health if you can get to grips with eating/drinking healthily. This is all in your own hands of course. Don't blow it!

Thanks for this, I do need a new app to help my running as the one I currently have isn't great /:

sign up for some winter cross country runs. Nothing better to keep you motivated, and you will strengten your legs and improve your hill running immeasurably.

How about joining your local running club? Social and exercise! Also, know what you mean about a bad diet in an office. I put on so much weight last year due to office treats, we have something called 'treat corner', I stay away from it these days!

I don't have the money to join a running club atm, but that is my plan. And the office is a bad place for a diet, I've been there 10 weeks and put on half a stone, this is also because I had a very active job before. So quite different. I'm hoping I have my determination back to avoid them now though

Have a look and see if your council runs one. The running club run by my local council is just £3 a session :-) good luck!

Three very good ideas above. It's a little early yet, but I will sign up to Jantastic to see me through the worst of the winter - January, February and March. It's particularly effective if you can join up with a team. Then skipping runs means letting the team down - a useful motivator.
