I have a set of these: amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B000WP...

Been using them the last few mornings as it's been dark; they're great. 👍

Hubby got me something very similar from Halfords last year. Now just need to remember where I put them........

I've already got some of them that I use for dog walking over the winter.

Definitely! Anything that help you to be seen, especially if you run around roads. If a motorist can't see a motorcyclist, there's a good chance they won't spot a runner!! Doesn't need to cost a fortune, some reflective arm and ankle bands might do or maybe one of those hi-vis waistcoat thingys.

Depends where you run, really. If on pavement, no. If on road, yes. If on trail, no, but get a head torch.

Totally agree with Rignold. It depends where you are running. Trails - headtorch, pavements - nothing special, roads - some reflective hi-vis and a red flashing led light on the heel (from Lidl, but like the Nathan Lightspur nathansports.com/visibility....

Don't mistake fluorescent for hi-vis. Fluo works in the day but is useless at night. Reflective hi-vis works at night only, which is what you want. The most important thing is to use your eyes and ears though.

I got a couple of high vis t-shirts from decathlon. shapeless and baggy, but they can be seen and I don't care if I put holes in them for running numbers. £3.50 each.

and a headtorch as advised by Rignold, but I haven't used it yet.

Just back from my first 'running after sundown' of the season - quick 10km around Thatcham. It was all on pavements, and mostly lit by street-lighting. However, I did wear my flourescent tabard over my lightweight, Hilly running jacket. And (as is my policy after dark) I took my bum-bag with car key fob, phone and iPod.

Agree with Rig - on pavement is shouldn't be necessary - but I prefer a cautious approach. Running on pavements involves crossing of roads, so best to be on the safe side. I think mine was £3 from Screwfix.

You do need to wear reflective stuff. Motorists need to see you! Those armbands with the flickering lights on are good! Our street lights are rubbish and it's like the black hole of wotsit hereabouts so I usually take a small torch out with me as well as wearing reflective jacket. Your leggings and shoes may have some of those reflective strips on already

Most of my shorts and tops are from Décathlon. All of them have reflective stuff on them which show up well in the dark (not noticable in daylight).

I use a rechargable Geonaute head torch also from Décathlon, 25 euros, slightly more expensive than the Energiser head torch that I used last year but much better :)
