I've noticed a lead with my right leg when running. Do you have a lead leg? One which gives you "more" lol or do you try to even it out?

Yes I have a lead leg for everything, I guess we all do. I have hurt mine so am trying to lead with the other leg when going up and down stairs etc. What a palaver! I guess it would be great not to favour one leg over the other to try and distribute weight evenly to avoid hurting ourselves. We can run smarter by taking smaller steps and keeping everything under our hips and trying to make a conscious effort to run with good form, not slouching or leaning every which way.

I have a lead leg.. in fact I find i often have two legs that feel they were made out of lead when i run..... but i try and ignore them....

( honest answer to your question... yes , if you think of yourself walking up the stairs.. you DO tend to prefer one leg over the other.. or jump mostly from one leg.. but WHY should we want to try and even it out? we are ' right or left handed' we have a ' right or left dominant eye' we don't try and even them out, why seek to do the same with legs ?

Haha :D I read your post as *lead* leg, ie a leg made of lead. Immediately thought, like Anaverageman, both mine are made of lead!

Unfortunately, I broke my lead ankle, so it's definitely got less 'umph' these days but I'm working on it :)

My lead leg is the one that always runs in the gutter as I go up and down the road. I'm going to look weird unless I start running with the traffic instead of against it.

I certainly find that my breathing settles on one leg. Generally I breathe out starting on my left for three steps and then in on my right for three. I would suggest trying to keep equal strides if you can, or you may find that you stress your hips and lower back unevenly or are over-striding with your "best" leg and get a joint injury.
