Haven't run for over a week 😁😁

Three weeks ago I managed to do do 10k runs when I went out. So last Monday I decided I'd do another 10k was going really well till I passed out. I must of passed out as I didn't hurt my hands at all my face took the full force. I got taken to hospital and my blood sugar was low. It could be that as I haven't eaten before I went out I never do makes me feel sick. Also it might of been too hot as my body isn't very good at regulating my tempruture. The photo doesn't do the bruising justice. By Tuesday my eye was nearly swollen shut. 😁😁

Wow - that's a warning to everyone. I hope you recover quickly and can get back on the horse. Did you have any signs that this might happen?

Omg poor you! That looks painful!! Hope you feel better soonπŸ˜ƒ Did you keep yourself well-hydrated and do you tend to suffer from low blood sugar/pressure normally? That's pretty scary (although for me a 10k is a L-O-N-G way off!), I can't eat before a run either!!!!!😱

Steve_L I didn't have any warning one minute I was running round the lakes were I live next I'm on my side in the road with no idea what happened. A teenager on the way to school helped me up and a lady took me to a first aider. They got an ambulance and I was at A&E for three hours.

Sandirm I do have low blood pressure but not low sugar I think it was because I've been pushing myself really hard with my running and I'm weight trading three times a week. I didn't run last week I couldn't even if I wanted to I'm having this week of. I'm seeing my GP for a check up,on fridayband I'll be running on Monday if I get the ok.

Ouch ouch ouch, that looks painful! You hear about people feeling like they're going to faint from exercise, but it's rare to see someone actually do it. Do take care. Maybe bring water to help you cool down as you run?

Ahh bless you big hug x I too couldn't eat before a run and love to be out first thing. Try eating half a banana 30 mins before you go and I take lucozade sport to sip on keeps blood sugar right. Also Trek bars o nibble a quarter before run. I'm going to try jelly babies on longer runs in prep for half marathon. Speedy recovery hunny xxx

Ouch! Hope you heal up nice and quick and get some good advice on how to make sure that something like that doesn't happen again. Take care and take it easy.

Ouch! That's gotta hurt!

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Even if you can't eat, you could try taking a sugary drink with you - or having one before you set out. I can't eat for hours before I run or it makes me really uncomfortable but I do usually take a sugar fix shortly before.

Holy Crap !!!!

Oh that looks so painful. Big hugs (((( )))) What a shock that must have been for you .

I have a cuppa tea and half a banana before my runs. The one and only time I did 10k, I had porridge about an hour before . I have low blood pressure and can feel a bit woozy now and again .

I hope you get the all clear from the Docs ,take care and hope you feel better soon xxx

That looks very painful indeed!! Get better soon and your doing the right thing going to see the doctors.

I am with poppy pug, on a long run I have some porridge or a banana. They tend not to be heavy but give you that energy you need. Especially if your training in the week as well. Take care and hopefully happy running soon.

Yikes. Hope it's a speedy recovery. I'm a person prone to low blood sugar and fainting, on all my long runs I take sports drink with me. If I'm feeling faint the sugars combined with a sit down perk me back up until I can get home.

Oh my goodness! That looks properly sore. I'd say absolutely no more running on empty for you - sounds like you're training quite hard so for goodness sake keep some fuel in the tank. And get well soon.

Thank you everyone for you get well wishes. When I'm allowed to run I will have some fruit and water about half an hour before I go out and take some water with me. Hopefully it won't happen again. 😊😊
