Ok , I've just completed week 3 run 3 of Ct5k - feeling good lost 7lb since starting , but I've made the mistake of finding out what is in store for week 4 😱 . That's a big leap in time for the runs . How do people find it and keep going ? I'm going to dig deep but worried it will beat me !!

I made it a rule not to look ahead!!

If you've got this far you're ready even if you don't think you are - trust Laura, go slow and banish the doubts as best you can 😊

Just take it nice and slow and trust in Laura - she's got all of us through it in the end!

The tags in your post tell you everything that you need to know :-)

Seriously, don't worry. Tens of thousands of people have been through this program, and every upcoming week seems a challenge (particularly W5). But your body is being conditioned each week for the coming one, and so you'll be fine.

As MarkyD says, you, without even realising it, are improving with every run and every rest.

Just take it nice and easy and the 5 minute running stints will fly by.

Trust laura and as Marky D says know that we have all been there but have managed it, so when you set of repeat to yourself "I can do this, I will do this, I am doing this", take it slowly and soon you will ticking off another week

Don't worry about it. Everyone has done it and you can do it too. If you've done the previous runs your body will be ready even if your mind still doesn't believe it. Keep it slow and don't give in. w4r2 will be easier.

Woah, there. Before doubting your ability to run week four, hold your horses a minute and look back to week one. Remember the puffing and the hard work? Now imagine doing that week again now. It'd be easy in comparison, right? Because you are fitter and you've progressed. So ignore the gremlins, DON'T scare yourself, and keep going. You've built your stamina and your fitness, and you are ready for these runs. Believe me. :D

Dearest Becky. Fear not. Place your trust in the plan because it is specifically designed to ;

a) frighten you

b) surprise you once you realise it wasn't worth being frightened cos you've smashed it

You will EASILY do it because even though your mind is saying "Ohhhh Goddddd!", your body will be saying "Yeah babe. I'm up for this."

Agree with everyone's comments and also think that planning good routes (if you are running outside 😀) and a good play list become more important as you move through programme. I ran for 25 minutes today for the first time in my life probably - in the rain- and I enjoyed it. So the C25K works.

Well done and you will be fine, honest!! I always try to hang on to the bit where Laura says "if you have completed the previous runs, you are ready for this". Oh and the comments from everyone on here. It's amazing as you move through the programme, and look back, how things that seemed impossible are achievable. Good luck and report back in on how it goes :)

Aw becky, be a big brave girl, and get stuck into week 4. Go slowly at the start and only pick up the pace if your feeling tip top. It's not NOT about speed, but about training your body / mind to run for the full 30 mins at the end. And I know you can do it. Don't forget to post and let us know how you've got on!!

Hi Becky, I read your post yesterday and thought "Yes, that's me too". And when I got up this morning I so did not want to go out to start week 4. But I did, and it was fine, and I did my first week 4 run without any problem! As everyone else on here has said, and as Laura says too, it's not a race, so take it gently, if you feel you're getting out of breath then slow down a bit. And just keep going. You can do it. All your training up to now has been preparing you for the next step, and then the next etc. So go for it!

I made that mistake too, took me all my strength to actually get out the house to attempt it but I've just completed my day 1 of week 4, it was hard but dig deep and you can do it, I am feeling very proud of myself even if i was "running" at a snails pace - you can do it!!!

It's a wonderful feeling once you have done it - but agree most of the rubs at the mo are filled with a touch of anticipation 😁 well done for keeping going 👍🏻👍🏻

Like pojboj said it did take all my energy to get out the door as I was dreading this one but I did dig deep and kept going , even felt my breathing was better and just fell into a good steady rhythm. Thank you all for you kind words of encouragement x
