Anybody done one?
I'm signed up for the Solider Charity one in June.
What a virtual run?not real where everyone pretends to run... i might do an imaginary ultra tomoro in that case....
Good luck anyway cause I really have no idea what that is but up for anything new
A Virtual Race is one wher eyou run the distance on your own, wherever and whenever you want, rather than at a specific time/location in the presence of other runners. You can do it as many times as you want to get yout best time, or just the once, or you could just pretend to have done it, but that would rather defeat the object. Usually you send a pic of your Garmin/app result as proof.
I've done several Millwalk, I find it a fun way of keeping motivated between 'real' races, or keeping my hand in when time constraints prevent from doing real races, and it is good way of supporting charities.
Never done one but it looks really interesting. I'm tempted with this one but not sure if I can commit enough time to do the challenge justice across those dates (busy work time lots of early mornings & late nighrs urgh...)
Thanks for sharing & good luck! ☺
With this one you have to send proof that you have done it. Anybody got a sub 20 min 5K going spare
Seriously I will be running as per normal in June so I'll just pick my best time and submit that one. Apparently I get sent a race number and info by email prior to the start.
Plus it keeps the bling count up.
I did one a few weeks ago, it was from the FaceBook C25K-ers page. I found it really emotional, all of who started at the same place with Laura, now doing 10K. There were people from different countries too all running at their own time. There was a medal if you wanted it but you had to order it yourself!
