I have a dodgy set of ankles. Have done since a particularly gymnastic unintentional dismount from a horse about 30 years ago.
So now my left ankle is rising up in protest that I have dared to wake it from its easy life and ask it to transport me at a slightly quicker rate than expected.
I am due to run W4R2 tonight, but I wonder if I should give it another 24 hours rest and make my attempt on Tuesday.
I know it can turn to tendinitis , as has happened in the past, but I'm annoyed my body is being a literal pain.
Part of me is quite surprised how unhappy I am at being laid up.
Strapping is on, voltarol applied. But still pain and very tight calf.
Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

Haven't really got any advice but I do have a cautionary tale that my physio told me on Saturday.
A man in his early 70s presented for treatment with a bad back. He walked with a limp and used a walking stick. During questioning about his medical history, the man said he'd badly sprained his ankle age 43 and had walked with a limp ever since. The physio examined him and discovered that his back pain was due to his limp. He gave him some simple exercises and cured both his back and his 30year old limp in 3 sessions!
The moral of this story: apparently ankles don't always get better on their own, no matter how long you leave them. Sometimes a visit to a physio can work wonders.
Oh wait a minute, I do have some advice: you could try a foam roller on your tight calf muscles. Hurts like Hell but it does break up those knots.
