It is safe to say, every runners legs ache. As a new runner it can be very uncomfortable, as your body is being used in a way that it may never have done before. We all ache after pushing ourselves beyond what we are used to, but with increased fitness that will diminish. I am a great believer in stretching straight after your run, while the muscles are still warm. These are a good set of basic stretches nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/...
Good luck. It will get better.

As Ian says... yes, everybody's legs ache, but it does get better (and you get used to it). I also believe in stretching to alleviate some of the aches.

Mine really ached when I started, but I had some great advice from Bazza... make sure you are running with a circular motion, first drive the knees forward, then pick up your heels at the back, it's a bit like riding a bike. I couldn't believe the difference it made to me, goodness knows what I was doing before...I practise it when walking too. As Iannoda and Tomas say too, do your stretches after your run. If it's really painful Ibuprofen gel...

I do yoga to stretch sometimes and it's magic for not aching (cat pose, cow pose, downward facing dog to get all the knots out of the back of my legs - I run them together in a continuous loop til things relax).
I also have a foam roller which makes me cry, but definitely helps.
