Time to stop procrastinating...

So, in order to find time to run, I am going to have to start running before work. This might seem easy to some, but I am in love with sleep, my bed, being warm and hate early alarm clocks! However, I can't complain about not having time to run if I don't sacrifice something.

Today I got up for my first solo early run at 6.15! It wasn't a very successful run, in that I had to walk parts due to a tight pain across the top of my feet and up my shins... still, I managed to get out of bed and do it!

My plan is is, hopefully, concentrate on walk5 run30 walk5 for a few weeks on mondays, wednesdays and thursdays, until I am more comfortable with running the whole way and then start building it up.

:)

Thanks... going to give it a go, making it a routine :) I've been to therapy etc recently and she pointed out I'm so organised in the rest of my life, and good at organising, yet I can't organise myself to fit in exercise... so trying to make a permanent change to include runs and exercise, making time for it!

It doesnt take long for it to become routine :)

Hang on in there for the lovely spring mornings which are just around the corner. Soft warm sunshine, a gentle breeze, twittering birds, unfurling buds and spring flowers.......Plus free vitamin D and E from being outside....It's not really a sacrifice... is it ?

I'm hoping not :) It was nice to see the pink sky this morning!

Also you CAN organise yourself to fit in exercise, you just have to believe in the importance of looking after YOU rather than sorting everything else out. You need a mantra like 'I matter' !

Yes i do... I organise everything else but not my diet and exercise. I didn't think that someone without children needed to remember to make time for themselves but I guess we all do!

The good thing is the days are getting lighter, the clocks go forward in a few weeks. Early morning runs with the sun coming up and the birds singing sound delightful, and just think how much better you will sleep when you do go to bed.
