Out yesterday for W5R1 and I just happen to pass my teenage daughter and her boyfriend out for a walk. As I believe it is every parents duty to embarrass their teenagers, I gave them a hearty wave and a loud "Hellooo" as I jogged passed.
Later on that evening I commented that I was unsure if the embarrassment was because I had seen them or because they had seen me running (think Miranda more than Jessica Ennis!!). She laughed nervously and said that boyfriend had said, almost absent mindedly " and a Giraffe goes Galloping by.."
I was delighted!!!
There aren't many African animals running about on the West coast of Scotland so I'm happy with Giraffe. Could have been Hippo!!
I like that boy

Hmm- thinking back I saw them at the beginning of the run. Perhaps if they had seen me towards the end, the comment may have along the lines of " and a large pink, sweaty Hippo goes staggering by..."
