I'm going away next week ( to the sun! Yippee!) and am looking for some inspirational running books to while away some hours when I'm not actually running!
I've already read the following:
1. Born to Run
2. The Lazy Runner
3. Running Like A Girl
4. The First 20 Minutes
5. The Complete Book of Running For Women
6. Running With The Pack
7. The Art of Running Faster
Blimey, I didn't realise I'd read so much! I must really like this running thing.
I'm sure some of you got a few goodies for Christmas so any recommendations are very welcome. I
Thanks everyone.

Flanagan's run by Tom McNab. I absolutely love that book. set in the 20's in depression era, it follows a trans american run. Fictional but still inspirational
Someone gave me a Dean Karnazes book called 50/50 about his 50 marathons in 50 days. He travelled in a bus all over the US, meeting up with local runners. Interesting, true story. I really enjoyed it. It's an easy read and not too long
What I Talk About When I Talk About Running - Murakami - really lovely book that explores all sorts of aspects and reasons (and distances) of running, written by a wonderful author!
I borrowed it from the library but loved it so much that I bought a copy too.
A book called "Lazy Runner" written by Marie Bean ,I've got it on my Kindle...recommended on a running blog I follow .A good read with lots of really useful info.
Go old school, my friend wrote this, one of the first books to encourage women on this running craze nearly 40 years ago. Her work predates Jim Fixx, who gets more credit. She's still fit, still writing. Not running, but serious walking and talking (about snakes, birds, etc) as a docent at a national park in Arizona.
Running for Health and Beauty: A Complete Guide for Women (Feb 1977) Kathryn Lance
Or this one.
Getting Strong : a Woman's Guide to Realizing Her Physical Potential (1978) Kathryn Lance
