Late afternoon yesterday my brain was feeling well frazzled, so I decided a run could be just the thing. Having "accidentally" done a long run on Sunday evening, I wanted to work on pace rather than distance so decided to use the Stamina podcast. Well it was a slog at first, but about half way through things clicked and by the end I realised I was at 4.3k - well obviously I couldn't just stop so close to the 5k mark, so I slowed down but kept running. Sped up again for a real sprint finish in the hope of getting my time down to 41 minutes, but it wasn't to be - but still 41:10 is a new best for me... Dunno if I'll ever get to the mythical 30 minutes, but 40 is starting to feel attainable.

A new PB, that's fantastic, well done! The mythical 30 minutes still eludes me too but its good to have a goal. Little by little I am chipping away at my times, but, the main thing is we are out there doing it and enjoying the run.
