Wow, I did it! I had to stop just before half way to stretch my leg for a few seconds as it was doing that annoying tightening painful thing again (I did do W6R3 last night so perhaps it's partly tiredness) but other than that I pretty much slowly jogged the whole way
Just wondering, now I'm doing the 'longer' runs whether I should perhaps switch back to the interval runs on the days I do any extra runs ie I did the 22 minutes yesterday and 25 minutes today, maybe I should have just done an interval day today to not work quite as hard?
I have a 5k Onesie Runsie this Sunday and I'm hoping I can convince my mind to just keep going the whole way non-stop!

hey sidbetty, i have just completed run 3 week7 and I am about to start week 8 but like you I am doing some of the earlier runs on my off days. I have finally persuaded my husband (the junk food couch potato) enabler) to start on week one so I will run with him on these on the off days. Like you I am doing a 5K run in Melbourne next sunday week and I am really nervous that I will be able to do it? That is why I have been doing some of the other runs on the 'rest' days. don't know if this is a good idea or not?

I think I may try to run again tonight but do shorter intervals and rest tomorrow for the run on Sunday. My boyfriend is so against the idea of running unfortunately!
I guess we should all have rest days but as I used to do boot camp quite a lot, I figured 30 minutes of jogging every day can't hurt that much - and if it does, then I will take a break for a couple of days. I really struggle to get out at the weekends and on friday nights so to fit all the runs in, I do need to skip a couple of rest days.
I think you should rest from running on your rest days. If you are starting to get twinges, that's probably why. Rest days are important for your bones and muscles. Do some exercise, but perhaps something low impact ...?
Thanks useit for replying. Currently I don't really have much other option as I can't afford to go swimming or go to my boot camp classes (which aren't low impact by any means!). I will perhaps just trying doing more of the shorter intervals from earlier weeks.
Fair play. Like you I can't afford the gym every month. I bought a couple of cheap second hand bit of kit - a stepper and a rowing machine, which I haul out of the garage and use in the kitchen on my non running days. I like to give my family something to laugh at.
That's a good idea, we have nowhere to put them though I will perhaps look at going for a short bike ride with my boyfriend or something. I have said to him we are both too lazy and need to start being more active.
