About 3wk ago I do a 6.5 k run , not done any other longer runs since only 5ks . My question is can my next long run be 7k if I have Only been doing 5ks for the last 3 wks .? Thanks for any advice .

Distance
Go for 6K and see how you feel at that point - I reckon you'll push right on to 7K no worries at all... just go easy...
I reckon if you take it steady you will be ok. For me it would help if the weather was cooler! Just try without putting pressure on yourself to do it, you can always have a longer walk back if need be x
Seeing how it goes at 6k is one way of doing it, but you would be giving yourself an option to quit at that point, and for me, if I were the least bit tired, I might be very tempted to take it. Alternatively, if you were to plan a 7k Route in advance, particularly something circular that returns home, at 3.6k, you would, I imagine, be feeling relatively OK and also have the knowledge that you had less to do than you'd done already. it becomes a positive attitude and so much of this running thing is in the head, not the legs.
Great suggestion... Too easy to submit to the gremlins!
I have to admit that on one of my 10K training runs I was almost about to stop at 5K as it wasn't feeling great... then I checked my time on the 5K and saw it was just over 30 minutes which spurred me on for the next 5...
I like you run mainly 5k runs but occasionally run 6k, 8k and once 10k. I do this using rob_and_his_westie suggestion of planning a route that has different loops that crossover at a point where i could stop if I feel too tired so i always have the option to stop. However so far I have always managed to complete the distance i set out to do.
Route planning is very useful and pretty good fun in its own right!
