Hi and welcome, don't be nervous you have got this far and you will be able to do it. Laura knows what she is doing so just trust the c25k programme. Go nice and steady, slowly does it. Good luck :)

Go slow and have faith in yourself. You can do it :) The runs you have done so far have prepared you for this one. The battle is mostly a mental one. Good luck!

The key thing I found was to go out slow and steady, then if you feel like you can go a bit faster towards the end you can do that. I remember that great feeling of amazement when I achieved that run......that's when I started believe I could really be a runner. Good luck and enjoy.

Just relax, believe in yourself and don't let the Gremlins put you off.

Happy running.

My tips:

I told myself it would nearly kill me so I really had all this excess adrenaline which I channeled into my running

Take a little water

Start slower than slow and then slow down (yyou can speed up a little as you go and finish on a high

Know how good of a buzz completing a 20 min run is - elation!

Tell yourself you CAN and you WILL do this.

Stay relaxed.

If you are tiring, concentrate on your breathing.

If you are feeling tired again, concentrate on the cycle movement of your legs and your gait.

When yiu feel tired, push thrpugh it as it will pass.

Have fun - you're gonna be amazing!

Xxx

Kikibro has said it all. Start slow, then slow down a bit more and leave a bit of energy to speed up at the end it you think you're able to. Doing these longer runs is all about battling the mental gremlins and negativity, but you can do this physically if you take it real steady. Good luck.

Good luck Dianesaad, I just completed W5R3 on Saturday and it seemed quite intimidating to me too. All i did was watch my pace (I started running at about 6.2kmh - I'm very slow) and then increased pace just a little after the halfway point. I found the second half of the run easier than the first as all the usual aches and pains in my legs and feet had eased off by then.

So, best of luck and i suggest you just watch your pace and start slow. ...and then enjoy the kick of having run for 20 mins straight!

Who'd have thought that 5 weeks ago I could have kept running for 20 minutes without stopping!

James

Choose somewhere nice to run if you can, then head up and look at the view! Think how great you're gonna feel when you have done it!

Slow and steady, you are more than half way on the programme. Fantastic run for preparation of the weeks ahead.
