I keep getting knee pain, which I rest for a couple of days and it goes. Today it's pretty bad and has got worse. I've read about gait, and I have high foot arches, is this related?

High arches and knee pain

If your arches have dropped or are not properly supported then yes it can cause problems because it throws you out of alignment.
I have special moulded arch supports (sexy NHS surgical supports) that I don't use because well they don't actually fit in my dainty girly shoes (design floor there). But I brought trainers with internal arch support and I'm doing ok with them. If you go to a running shop they will often be able to do gait analysis and then would be able to properly advise you on the best trainers for you.
I can't comment on gait analysis because I've not had it done, but many people have and said it's really worth it.
Try rolling your feet on a foot roller or simply a can from the kitchen cupboard to help relieve any pain in your feet and do some knee exercises, google should yield plenty of suggestions.

It could be a couple of things, so best to see a doctor (and request a knee specialist if they cannot help). I had ITB syndrome which caused pain while running but stopped after, and with insoles, physio and slowly building up my running, I have managed to get rid of it. But you need to know what the problem is first. Of course if you have not been running long, it could just be tour knees getting used to the new you.

id go and get the test done make sure the shoes you use are right for you sweatshop do it for free if you have not got one near you then google it and you should be able to find a shop near you, go and see the doc as well ,running in the run shoe can lead to big probs in the future

Im exactly the same. The pain started this week on week 2 run 2. I remembered afterwards that i was told years ago that I have high arches and my feet tend to roll inwards. I went to a local sports shop and now have a much better pair of trainers for my feet. I could feel that they were holding my foot in position as soon as I put them on. I didnt have gait analysis as i think my problem is obvious. I went to a local sports shop that specialise in running.
