When I switched mine on it came up with Language? on the screen. I then used the downwards pointing triangle on the front of the watch to scroll through the choices. To make a selection you press the top right button with the runner icon on it.

I looked at Youtube and some guy goes through the set up procedure. If that would help you JJ. There is a owner's manual which you can download from Garmin.com.support

Let's know how you get on

Yes Leon ripped it open and started pressing buttons... After an hour of you tube videos it's now sorted.. It's just a lot bigger than I expected!!!!

I have a small 10. Lovely! Mind you I can't read it without specs, so I ended up running with specs on my head. Doh!

I hope you get some good results out of it JJ!

Out of interest, where did you buy it from? A name is springing to mind but I don't want to mention them without knowing if that's where it was from!

That made me laugh as mine was in Russian! Luckily my son got one at the same time so we worked it out together!!

Perhaps it only works if you run in Greece - thinking sun, warmth, beaches,

running through olive groves and along the sand!

just a thought

Turns out it was actually Russian but then I've always longed to go on the trans Siberian express...! Although right now hot sun and bare skin on a beach would be perfect....

I did the trans Siberian route a few years ago, V cold and very long I spent most of it asleep

Ah...it looks so romantic though, all that scenery, cabin, food, someone to share it all with? Perhaps Greece would be better then?!!
