"Stylish, lightweight, comfortable and waterproof with 1 year plus battery life" - looks like it :)

Garmin website agrees: Water-resistant (50 meters).

That's what I thought but for the likes of running you need to use the HRM and I don't think you could use that in water!! Have asked this question on Amazon who put it to Garmin, they still haven't heard back from them :(

I think the premium HRM is waterproof if you want heart rate readings, but you don't have to use a HRM - you'll still get your distance/pace/elevation readings without it.

This was another question I put to them: Is my Garmin Forerunner 110 HRM compatible with this Vivofit? I don't see the point in paying money for another one just the same and on Amazon it looks the same!

It looks like the basic HRM (which comes with the forerunner 110) is compatible with the vivofit so you can use it for running etc, but actually the vivofit doesn't look any use for swimming as it seems to require the HRM to record anything other than how many steps you take in a day. None of the Garmin HRMs transmit heart rate data whilst in the water. Seems the vivofit appears to be a glorified pedometer, to be honest!

Yep I'm inclined to agree with you, there was a lot of hype before this came out and to be honest I thought it would do more and would be more expensive. Nike have something similar but not as expensive. I just would like something that would track my exercise classes and give me some date such as calories spent etc. But would dearly love to include swimming into the equation, perhaps I'm expecting too much technology from one small gadget.

Not what you're looking for?
