Well, after a three week enforced layoff with my attack of tendonitis in my knee, I was back out pounding footpaths tonight. With a crystal clear sky and a full moon to light my way, Laura burbling away in my ear, the wind at my back (at least at the start), I took it very easy, concentrating on relaxing my legs and settling into a nice rhythm. I switched between mid-foot striking on level ground, front-foot striking uphill, and a bit of a shuffle on the downhill bits!

The result? Week 7 run 3 completed! 25 minutes of gentle jogging, toasty warm in hat, gloves, windproof jacket and tracky bottoms. Got back, grinning from ear to ear that my time off hasn't hindered my progress to much, and that I enjoyed the run again!

Having sat down for a couple of hours my legs have that nice "exercised" feel without too much discomfort, just a slight stiffening of the left calf. Provided the weather isn't too wild I'll go for the first run of week 8 on Sunday.

It's good to be back!

Sounds like you had a lovely return to running. Hope your knee is fine and you get out again on Sunday. Welcome back!

That's so good to read about. Just the feeling I'm hoping to get. Thanks for the inspiration. I'm happy for you that your lay off didn't spoil things, you must have been a bit anxious ( despite your name!). All the best for Sunday.
