Doing it all again....

I completed C25K towards the end of 2012 just in time for the 5k run I had booked. I thought I would just continue running but I found that without the challenge of something to run towards I made excuses not to run although I continued to go to the gym.

I restarted the program a few times during 2013 but never managed more than a few weeks.

So this year I have booked myself a 10k run in May (first date that coincides with a day off on the weekend) and strapped on my running shoes. I have completed W3R1 and 2 this week, one more to go. It didnt feel too bad. I really enjoyed them too which annoys me that I didnt have the discipline to keep it up but I think I must be someone that needs a goal to work towards. Fingers crossed!

Keep posting your progress here and that may give you an extra incentive to keep it up. Good luck.

Keep running, keep smiling.

Definitely, it helped soooooo much last time. I honestly wouldn't have succeeded without it!

Well done for starting again, good luck with your training, have you thought about doing Parkruns to keep you motivated?

I have volunteered a couple of times. My nearest one is very fast and I know it shouldnt matter but I would come last! I plan to get back up.to speed then look for a slightly slower one otherwise I think it would knock my confidence, silly as that sounds!

I've had a Fitbit since August and have found it so motivating. I aim at 10,000 steps a day and 5 miles so with three runs a week those days are taken care of and I walk the other days. I have the cheapest one, the Zip, and I wear it 24/7.

Sounds like me. Did the plan in the lead up to a 5k Race for Life I had signed up for. Then, once I completed the plan and the race, I lost all motivation. But 2014 is the year that I will regain my motivation, and so far so good. Starting week 3 tomorrow and feel really great that I've got off my (now somewhat larger) rear end in a bit for a healthier lifestyle! To everyone else reading this - keep up the good work :-)
