I'm about to start the C25K plan and i was wondering if people train together? How can you find out if others are on the same plan in your area?

Welcome!!! I think most of us run together 'virtually'.. Although I don't speak for everybody..if you are looking for your area I would specifically write a post stating your general area and then PM people that are interested ( as this is v public..)... I run with son alot so im lucky. I would also recommend you join a parkrun when you are ready as its great fun, a fab way of running a 5k and you get to meet other runners!!! Good luck!

Thanks v much! Yes I've heard about a parkrun near me which I think I'll have a go at in a few weeks once my basic fitness level improves sufficiently :-) Thanks again.

There used to be a way to check if there were other c25k members in your area, this was before they changed the site when we used to have a map of where we were on our profiles, don't think you can now. Parkruns are great as Juicyju says, also some areas have running groups specifically for beginners, might be worth Googling.

I looked on the local council website, as each county has its own Jog Group. I joined my nearest one once I'd graduated. I was scared to join and meet new runners, being completely new to it. Walking into the meeting room scared me more than the actual running. It was fine, of course and I needn't have worried. I hope you can find one near to where you live. I run on my own normally and I think for the C25k programme it's probably easier as you have to concentrate on what you're doing and listen to the podcasts, so you don't need distractions, if that makes sense.

Thanks it does make sense - I'll just go on my own for now, using the podcasts etc then start to include a regular parkrun I think. Thanks everyone for all of your comments and suggestions.

I've not done a park run yet, despite graduating what seems ages ago. I fancy giving it a go when my ankle is better. Here's to us. Yay!
