Running shoes for those inevitable snowy months?

I live in upstate NY and about to embark on roughly six months of snow. Anybody else run in the snow? What do you keep on your feet to ... well, keep on your feet and not your back?

Trail shoes. Provided it isn't packed down and more ice than snow.

A friend who is a very serious runner recommended YakTrax Pro to me for snow and ice - but not black ice.

I have heard YakTraks also. I live in northern Missouri and we will have about 4 months of ice and snow. Not looking forward to it!

Indeed it is. I live in the Finger Lakes region and while driving around sometimes, I can't help but be in awe of my surroundings.

I am starting off doing most of my running on trails so I might look into these YakTrax. Thanks for the ideas and replies. Keep them coming if anyone has some other great ideas.

Adidas does a Climawarm runner, which look fairly good. The pair I tried had water resistant fabric and aggressive tread. Seemed like they would be a good snowy/blowy weather shoe. Might be worth a look :)

I used generic yaktrax last year and only had to resort to the treadmill when it started melting and there were patches of pavement visible.
