I bought a cheap mp3 player - managed to upload the whole programme. Threw on some old running shoes and did my first run today. Delighted. Whoever devised this to be accessible and online for free from the NHS, deserves recognition. Thank you.

Welcome to C25K Justice. Laura seems to be the face and the front of C25k but I guess that like the rest of the NHS there will be a team that supports it all and quite rightly they all deserve recognition. A big thank you to the C25k team from me too.

Good luck with the programme.

By the time you complete you will be even more impressed by C25k, I am sure. I always wonder why it is not prominently advertised in every doctor's surgery, pharmacy and leisure centre. Surely the cost of a few physio referrals (for the inevitable running injuries) is far outweighed by the the general saving to the NHS from the better health and wellbeing experienced those who complete the course and continue to exercise. That's my Saturday morning rant out of the way.

Welcome to C25k, Justice, and enjoy your running.

I graduated months ago and now alternate the three C25K+ podcasts - I've never had a running injury! My shins felt a bit tight the first week and I worried I'd get shin splints but that didn't happen. At my age (63) my knees are a bit dodgy but I find the warm-up walk eases them in and I don't have any problems with them.

I certainly agree with you that it should be wider advertised!

Absolutely right; doctors should be pushing it vigorously but some seem unaware of it. Sometimes the NHS seems very not-joined-up

Yes! Went for my flu jab this morning and got talking to the nurses about my fitness and running and supposed cure from type 2 diabetes (according to my GP) because of weight loss and running. They are going to put adverts for C25K in waiting room and want me on the patient participation panel as I'm "just the sort of healthy example this practice needs"!!

I think this is brilliant.Very well done to you.You really are a great example. You weren't clear as to whether you're diabetes has gone away? X

well my last 2 fasting glucoses have been normal as for non-diabetics and GP said "I think you've cured yourself".

As ianoddatruffe said this should be advertised in doctors surgeries.I live in an area where people live off McDonald's and massively overweight, lots of smokers etc.it would be a lot better for docs to refer patients to this programme rather than having to hand out prescriptions.Nice to see other oldies like myself on here.im 62 and it's changed my life.Cool running everyone

Welcome to C25K. I agree with you. It's a great programme and should be more widely advertised. However the best advert is you raving about it to friends. I'm on week 9 and a friend I raved to is about to start week 3, she's raving about it to friends too. We should all shout about it!

Welcome to the community. C25k is wonderful, but so is this forum and all the people on it. Whenever you are down, super proud of yourself, questioning whether you can do it, injured or just tired - all the wonderful runners on here will be there to help, give advice, praise and sympathy. It is what got me through to the end, and what helps to keep me motivated to keep on pushing myself.

Enjoy your running.
