First parkrun with my boy

Well we did it. I managed just under 44 minutes which is a PB for me. I was 491 out of 492 runners so that was a bonus to not be last lol! The boy however ran it in 29.49 - little bugger! I had barely crossed the finish line when he said "Mummy that was ace, can we do it again next week?" Looks like this may become a weekly habit!

Nice one, sheffkezz. You got a right little Mo Farah, there. I'd encourage him, if I were you.

Cheers IT. No encouragement needed he already thinks he is Mo Farah!

Great lad!!! I run with my boy too and his PB stands at 25 minutes, not bad for an 11 year old. It's so good for them to have this, and well done you, that sounds like a huge parkrun!!!

Cheers JJ. It is a very big n popular park run. Quite a central park in Sheffield and somewhat flat for Sheffield too.

Well done! That's a great achievement, especially for your boy :) I salute you for entering - such a huge number of people would have put me off, and how fantastic that you weren't last!

I am well impressed with both of you. I am working up to a park run and you are inspiring me to have a go.

WELL DONE BOTH OF YOU! I always love to hear of people taking their children along with them. It's great to be able to take them and do things together. I used to take mine canoeing and they still talk about those times (30 years ago. Yikes!).

And you didn't come last! Would not have mattered if you had, you did it - that's huge!

well done, and a PB as well :) I love park runs and it doesn't matter if you are first or last really, as long as you do your best, I am always towards the back of my local park run, but everyone is still really supportive.
