Just been to get my fruit and veg from Lidl and bought a head torch, its ace. Takes 3 x AAA and has 4 settings. Setting 1 = 3 bulbs lit, 2 = 7 bulbs (very bright) 3 = 2 bulbs red & flashing (cool) Comfortable and adjustable over the head cost £3.99, not bad eh :)

Forgot to say it comes with batteries but you need to pull a tag off one of them to activate, also torch can be angled to adjust beam.

I'm heading down to the local lidl to see what gear they have this weekend. Hopefully they won't have sold out! Its a shame there is no option to order online ;)

Thanks for the heads up OG !!

hopefully the batteries will last more than 1 run, because judging by last night I'm going to need a head torch within the next month, I was certainly dropping darker by 8:15 last night when I had finished.

So will definitely call in on my way home..

I went in to my local Lidl's on Tuesday and all they had left were two pair of extra small running socks! They must have done the running gear sale a week earlier here in Devon. Do they sell running gear quite regularly?

These running things only came on offer today, the socks were last weeks which were cycling stuff if I remember right.

If you miss any offer on Lidl, try and check Aldi during the next two or three weeks. At least here in Germany, both have the same offers within a few weeks. Sometimes Aldi is first, sometimes Lidl. You can easily check on their homepages what's on offer the next week.

I've just been to my local, I treat myself to a pair of running gloves and a running jacket in day glow green, there will be no missing me on winter evenings :) I find the womens gear very small fittings, so I opted for the mens version of the jacket, my local still had a good selection of everything available.

thanks OG for reminder-just been - got a lovely cycling jacket - which had good pockets and a hood for those cold mornings. A runningt top in day glo pink and a waterproof in same flashy colour. I also got fancy pant running gloves with a waterproof mitt thingy.

It also feels good quaility- so I shall turf out my old tracky stuff.

Impressed by running torch - v dedidicated - but not for me - I am a daylight morning runner.

Happy running

I went for the torch, jacket , top & reflectors but I think hubby is going to nag & nag & nag if I try to go out in the dark. He's a worrier. Couldn't find bottoms. But I've just read Katee's reply & so now going to run/jog upstairs to try them on. Bye

We bought them from lidl today and they are really good. In a local outdoor pursuits shop they are £10 so we got a real bargain at £3.99. I bought a ladies running jacket but it was too small so had to return it. Hubby's shorts were ok but the sizing is misleading.

I've just wondered into the kitchen to find my hubby in the cupboard under the stairs and a voice saying "damn this is a great little torch, I should have got one years ago" Now I'm not one to split hairs and all that but I do remember it was ME that bought that torch, so if at a later date you guys will all be my witnesses won't you if a certain person tries to claim one head torch for himself? :)

I bought a top and gloves, great bargains. I saw the torch and thought it might be a bit big but, reading Oldgirl's review, I may just pop back and get one tomorrow!

My dad got me two running tops and socks from lidls today. We have been waiting as it was my birthday present. I had to go one size up.. Normally that would bother me but since I started running I seem more grounded about that sort of thing. Another plus of c25k.

I did get a top and gloves but having to return the top a second time as even the medium is too small - actually about the same size as the small!! Might try a large if they have any left. I do like their stuff though.

Went back today and they've just got the stock in, so I got my gloves at last! No tops though, but got a nearly-new one from Ebay :)
