Been knackered since my graduation run.

I technically graduated, only 4k in 30 mins but it was outside, in the heat, in the pennines...I'm making excuses but I don't really care, before this I had never run over 60 seconds.

Problem is since then I have done something to my leg. Right at the top, on the inside, can't work out if it is hip or groin, muscular or nervous. Each morning I am proper stiff and limping.

I tried resting, didn't really make any difference (in fact moving seems to help long-term, but isn't great while actually moving), tried doing week 3 but at faster speeds, tried slowing down. I just can't keep my leg going for 30 minutes without being quite scared of it going ping.

Today did 30 mins on the cross trainer and it was fine, yesterday did 15 mins at usual speed but hit the point where it feels like my hip is going to fall out.

Any idea at all what this could be and how to sort it out? I have been enjoyign my running and really don't want to get out of practice -but also don't want to seriously feck myself over. So far mates have recommended new running shoes and KT tape, but these require pennies and I am royally skint. I'll do it, but only once I've tried everything else which is suggested.

Please help, now I've finally got the will to sort out my fitness, I don't want to lose it again.

I had something similar, my calf was hurting and I tried resting and then easing back into running, it wasnt improving. In the end I went for a consultation with a sports injury therapist and it was a torn muscle and was cured within 2 weeks and now almost back up to speed again. It put me back to week 4 and have worked back up to week 8 this week.

Have you tried the Strength and Flexibility podcasts ? It might help to fit this in on days when are not running to boost you fitness for the next day.

I would see a Dr first though as you said you are in pain.

You could also take some time off between runs to relax and recover as it sounds like you are running every day ?
