Okay so I should have done w3 r2 yesterday am, but couldn't get up in time. Away for weekend now which means won't run until Monday. Scared it will be hard as wont have run since last Wednesday!
Plus gained weight last week (3lbs!!) and only lost 1lb this week (doing slimming world who told me running only helps maintain weight, but not helpful for losing it?!??!) feeling a bit disillusioned right now on the diet and exercise front...

Don't be too disheartened. Have a healthy weekend and start again on Monday...sometimes we have 1 step forward 2 steps back but that doesn't stop it from being only forward next time. You and Laura together can do it...slowly and steadily.
Running does help you lose weight (you are burning extra calories aren't you??) but you do need to be careful not to over eat as well. I'm sure you are well aware that as long as the calories you burn is greater than the calories you consume then you will lose weight. However you also need to remember that if you are exercising you will not only be losing fat but gaining muscle... Muscle is heavier than fat so while you could well be losing inches your weight would remain the same. Measuring weight alone does not give a true picture of what is happening to your body.
One of the things I like about running is you can do it almost anywhere so why not take your kit with you & run while you are away? If that is really not possible don't worry about having a few exta rest days between runs. We all do it from time to time, just make sure you get back out there as soon as you can & it will probably be easier than you expect!
Running isn't helpful for losing weight? I'm sure there's scores of people on here alone that would beg to differ. perhaps they are worried you might find something you enjoy to help you shed pounds and therefore won't need to pay them any more for classes/products etc. I'm highly suspicious of these slimming clubs after watching my mum battle with her weight over the years and spend endless sums at weight watchers. The additives alone in their meals/snacks are scary. Sorry if it's your thing great but believe me running certainly DOES help you lose weight
I hope I'm not breaking the rules of this forum by suggesting this but...........When I started my healthy eating and fitness regime (on medical advice due to being diagnosed with pre-diabetes) I decided to start a blog to help my motivation and, maybe, help motivate and encourage others. One of my posts makes mention of slimming clubs.
If you want to take a look at the blog the address is reducingwithrattle.blogspot.com
Good luck with your weight loss and future running - I am proof that running does help with weight loss. All the very best.
