Hi , Is it ok to skip week 2 and go straight to week 3? I used to run alot a few years ago and wondered if it would be best to jump up a level? Or should i stick to the programme? Thanks Guys ps LOVING the podcasts Laura is amazing! xx

Its entirely up to you and what you feel your body can handle. C25K fits a wide range of ages/fitness levels etc but as the C25K stands for couch to 5K, caters to people not use to running. That said, its my opinion, if you want to say your doing C25K, why not just go ahead and do the program like its designed? Personally, I would do week 2, have it be easy for me then zip right on into week 3. WELCOME! Gayle

As Gayle says, you can start at the point you feel comfortable with, for me every week was a challenge but great if you have better fitness. :-)

Thanks for the responses guys. I didn't mean to be big headed at all by the way , I haven'r ran for a good few months! Just want to push myself more but maybe i should be patient. I kind of did a double session on day 1 week 1 , then went out on Monday night. Either i do the last day of week 1 tonight or Jump to Week 2? x

Not big headed at all! I'd say if the runs feel easy then it's okay to jump ahead to the point where it feels challenging, a few months out of running isn't much in the bigger scale and so you should have a good fitness base. :-)

I would think you'd want to advance a bit quicker from those of us who haven't run since PE lessons at school. Just listen to your body and if you're ready for more, then go for it!

Sounds like you already have a great foundation! Your not being big headed at all, you asked a very legitimate question. Like the others, I NEEDED each week but I also sat for years on the couch. ;-) Gayle

When people come back after graduating and then having a break (from injury, illness or just other things happening) they often seem to find they can move a bit faster through the programme by perhaps doing one day of week 1, one day of wk 2, one day of wk 3 etc, until they find the level that is challenging them. Might be a more comfortable alternative than leaving out a whole week? You're the best judge of your legs though.

Good luck - I'm another one that came to running after many years of not running at all (about 40!) so I needed to do it rather more gently. :)

Hi guys!!! Ok so having done week 1 and without jumping ahead I wanted to at least see what week 2 was like .... Wow not as easy as I had thought lol ! I didn't struggle but like I say wasn't easy I felt the extra 30seconds running! At the end it was amazing though! So what I've decided to do is , follow the plan to the book BUT if I feel like running / walking home instead of constantly walking I will as this will up my distance and stamina! Love the podcast though an thanks again everyone xxxx
