...it's pay day and you can order some new running shoes. And a top...even considered some compression-type shorts but had to stop there though it was difficult! Can't believe this is me, a year ago it wouldn't have crossed my mind that to buy new trainers was exciting, let alone full-on running shoes.

I've also discovered why you hardly see anyone out for early morning runs round here. I ran at 6.30 last night and you could hardly move for runners! It was great, we all smiled and said Hi and so I didn't feel too bad when people zoomed past me.

Apart from the obvious health benefits of exercise and running in particular, I sleep so much better now I run! I used to be a bit of a 4 a.m. wander-down-to-the-kitchen-and-make-a-brew person but now I sleep soundly. (Even more soundly now that I'm digging the multitude of weeds up from our allotment! Phew, that is hard work!)

Now I can't wait for my new RED running shoes to arrive!

Coooorrrrr..... RED shoes!!! Get 'em out there! Pea-green envious here - I adore red, would love red shoes, red anything ... but with my broad feet was only ever offered blue/black ones :(

Enjoy them, and the evening runs - might give evenings a try hereabouts now that it's lighter later. Maybe all the running locals are out here in the evenings too? And who would have thought - before C25K, no discussions about running shoes .... what were running shoes anyway LOL? Linda x

I love shopping for running gear (agree with Linda on running shoes though, I never seem to find the right colour in the right type for me).... probably a dumb question but what are compression shorts for exactly?

We-ell, I THINK they help support the muscles and keep them warm, but my reasoning is that baggy shortie shorts would just look b awful on me and I kind of imagine a cut-off version of capris would look better! Very shallow of me, but I truly haven't braved wearing shorts since 1989. Honestly!
