One way to lessen inflammation and reduce the phlegm is to discuss with your doctor taking azithromycin as a maintenance drug. I have been taking it for many years and my mucus/phlegm has gone WAY down!!

Thank you John.. I initially in the first 5-10 years (starting in 2003) of COPD I developed a treatment plan.. My pulmonologist helped me develop the plan. when I had a major flare up I used azithro for 5 days and took predizone for 10 days.. In most cases the coughing and inflammation went away.. Then 6 years ago started breo.. the drugs changed everything like day and night.. when the pandemic started I was happy I quit antibiotics and predizone as each really weakens the autoimmune system.. Thus I never was infected with covid.. I take zinc, maganeese and D3 every other day.. I have never had pneumonia either.. 4 years ago I found I have IPF which causes me to not fix oxygen.. I use oxygen to walk and take an experimental drug called OFEV to gain lung function. I I switched to Trelegy in July and the third drug I think is the root cause of the coughing.. I have used Tumeric with black pepper ..homemade caps.. the help with inflammation.. I don’t use aspirin and the like..abuterol has never helped me and only made my throat sore.. Seems the coughing begins when I lay down.. still trying to solve this.. Thanks for helping and being involved here..😁👍
