Looking up the side effects, one listed is urination problems (ie painful urination). I have been using Spiriva for years with no issues like that.....but we are all different.I am hoping your doctor is aware you stopped taking it. If not, let him know as there are other similar medications (LAMAs) that might be a better fit for you.
Thanks for replying.Yes I had a paramedic come out on Tuesday and was told she would consult with the doctor for an alternative medication. Still waiting. 🙄
Hi. I read that in men can cause prostate issues and females can cause urine detention. I use Spiriva but take a protate pill. My only issue I have with my COPD med is sometime mild sometimes severe anxiety. But I blame that on living alone now and the fact that I lost my pup of 13 year two year this coming June. So no one to share with.
Sorry to hear that pets are very good at listening and a great comfort. I know without the support of some excellent friends I would not get through some days. This is why these forums are a great help knowing there are so many people with the similar problems and understand. Also there is some very good advice.
Try to stay positive and dream of better days to come.
Your question has possibly helped me identify my own problem. I have been on Spiriva Respimat for years with no problems but recently I've been having problems with urine retention and painful bladder sensations. I wonder if it's the Spiriva. I wonder what your doctor will say.
I finally managed to see my doctor who did agree that she couldn’t rule out the fact that Spiriva could be causing the problem. In the last few weeks although I still have problem the pain has subsided somewhat. I was advised to take two paracetamol every four hours.
It does seem to help.
I have now Started on Incruse Ellipta. Watch this this space🤔
