Hello everyone. I am just joining this group. I have a pulmonologist appt. next week. 1 appt. will be by video chat because of Covid-19. Any suggestions? I was diagnosed by my general practitioner in Dec 2019-Jan 2020 as having COPD. I currently take Trelegy inhaler 1 x per day, and a rescue albuterol sulfate inhaler 2 puffs 4 x per day. I have been on steriods in the past which have helped some.

Hello, Just Joined.
I guess COPD can be a scary thing. I’ve had it for approximately 8 years. Of course do what your doctor says and I’ve learned that if I can get some exercise it’s helpful. The more you exercise the less oxygen you your muscles need and the easier it is to do things. I have a pedometer on my Apple Watch and you can get them free for any of the smart phones. I try to get in 2200 steps a day which is about the equivalent of 1 mile. It doesn’t sound like a whole lot but I think it helps. I am in the states so we probably have a little bit of a different system here but I think the advice I’ve had is the more exercise the better. Also I’ve been advised to takeoff weight but I’m a big guy and I just can’t seem to stay away from eating. Not sure how old you are I am 77 .....so at 77 everybody’s got something wrong with them I guess. Good luck keep walking
Welcome to the group!
Welcome to the group, nice to see someone new joining. I have had COPD/ ASthma for over ten years now. If you take care and heed what people say you can lead a fairly normal life. I take three inhalers but at present can't get the exercise I need due to Arthritic problems.Enjoy your weekend
I have emphysema, a form of COPD. Did your doctor tell you which form you have?
Jimcw gave some good advice, exercise as tolerated and try to lose weight if you need to. Use your inhalers as prescribed, and listen to the doctors. But don't be afraid to ask questions.
