Help/info re ileostomy & mucous fistula!

I’ve had an ileostomy&mucous fistula for 10yrs. Now and again I get retained faeces discharged from my fistula and the smell is awful. Has anyone else experienced this or can tell me how long it lasts? I can’t find any info online at all.

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this, and who can offer me any advice.
