It takes approx 6 months to settle but the pain will decrease over time. Take painkillers regular and if possible something stronger then paracetamol. Ask your GP if needed.

You are looking at a good two years for everything to settle back to normal. Heavy duties are a no, no and even squatting is a problem. Bending is a problem. I bought two reachers to pick up objects which are a great help. September 2018 im five years down the line and still experience problems.

Good Luck

It took me 6 months before I felt even a little better. I had UC and was down to 80 lbs and I'm 5'7" so I looked like someone who had survived Auschwitz. It took 6 months to feel okay but it's been 42 yrs and I still feel like a complete freak.

Frustratingly the pain is completely normal so soon after surgery. The surgeons did a lot of cutting and knocking of other things inside, so a lot of it is scar tissue and general bruising. It will get better overtime. It took me a couple months before i stopped having regular pain. All i can suggest is not to overdo on rehab. After a couple weeks i went for a long walk and made it worse. As soon as you feel tired or discomfort stop and rest. Its a long process when you really do have to be patient. Everyone is different in recovery time but you'll get there. Its been 2 years since mine and im so thankful. Sometimes i feel my life is better than it was before my UC started.

Look at the advice given you're getting it straight from the horse's mouth. Be patient and it will come. You're still in early days

Good Luck.
