I HAVE HAD MY STOMA FOR JUST OVER A YEAR NOW. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. THIS IS MY SECOND STOMA, HAD A REVERSAL AFTER MY FIRST BUT IT ALL WENT PETE TONG AGAIN. MY PROBLEM THIS TIME IS - MY BITS AND BOBS HAVE SHRUNK TO ABOUT 50% OF THEIR NORMAL SIZE. HAS ANYONE ELSE ENCOUNTERED THIS AND IF SO DOES IT RESOLVE ITSELF? I HAVE TOLD MY DOC BUT HE JUST SENDS ME FOR MORE BLOOD TESTS.

I think about those things too , but have no suggestion other than “use it or lose...”. if you can. Find a partner who is accepting and fun and enjoy life. I wish there was a tape or plug available for short duration. Does anyone know?

I hated my bag flapping about when we first started having sex after my surgery, I have always preferred the clear bag so I can monitor the output and wash it out when emptying at home, but for someone else to see the output could be off putting. Nowadays before we get started I empty and wash out my bag and I also wear my swim wrap which both stops the bag flapping about and also nicely covers it up.

It depends on which country you are in. I used to get my swim wraps from ostomysecrets.co.uk however, they have ceased supplying in the UK. I originally found the wraps on ostomysecrets.com but unfortunately, they don’t ship to the UK. I have been having a lot of trouble finding an alternative supplier and I have recently found a UK company that provides a unisex Hernia Support Breathable Tube Belt and in fact it is better than the OstomySecrets wrap and gives better support (I have a parastomal hernia) and it is available on prescription in the UK.
