Had fit test done and came back with elevated level of 24. But I have anal fissure which is not fully healed. Is it possible that high level of FIT TEST IS because of this anal fissure. Please share if anybody else had same situation. THANKS A LOT.

I have been referred for colonoscopy. Before FIT test all other tests were normal including for IBD. I was wondering whether anal fissure is causing high reading of FIT test. Can you ask your GP to give you the result of your FIT test.

I am only 17.no family history. All my tests for IBD were also negative.only this elevated level in FIT test. Really worried. Need assurance that high level of FIT test was due to anal fissure. Any one with any knowledge please respond.thanks.

Hi Pakleo,

Thanks for posting with us. You have lots of good feedback here👍. The elevated FIT could very well be from your fissure. It could be from other issues as well like piles. The thing here is your doctors want to be sure and have ordered the colonoscopy. You are young, but symptoms need a diagnosis no matter the age. You will get some great information from the procedure and hopefully you can get on a path to being well and not having to speculate if something else is going on. It would be so easy and wrong to say no further investigation needs to happen because you are young. Sounds like you have a good medical team.👍

Good advice to not over think it. I think you’re on a great path to get definitive answers. You’ll get some peace of mind soon. Glad to hear there are no family issues at play here.👏

Also, please let us know what you find out. That kind of information can be beneficial to others as well.

more than likely especially as it’s not healed , my fit test came back positive due to piles .
