A while ago I noticed bright red blood on my stool, no pain and my stools have always been the same sometimes formed and sometimes soft then back to formed again etc . The blood I have seen is very minor if that . I reported this to my doctor and I was given a fit test to take home I had it for a while but one morning I got up and had a strained bowl movement and noticed a very little bit of blood on my stool I did the fit test on this stool and sent it of and it came back positive the score was 28 my doctor refared me for a emergency colonoscopy the hospital rang me and said I can have the pill cam which has just been rolled out and I have this weds morning. I am convinced it is cancer and nothing else. Apart from a little blood I have no other symptoms.

Fit test 28 score .
FIT is just a marker and many conditions can cause higher results. So i wouldnt make assumptions. Sounds like your doctor is proactive. Is the pill cam being done instead of colonoscopy?. Best wishes
I wouldn't worry I had a fit test positive woth alot of blood but nothing found....what is a pill test BTW x
Hi Mollymilo007 .. the "pill cam" is actually a capsule with a camera in it and it transmits images to a device mounted on you belt. It will photo the entire gastro system. Kinda like an endoscopy & colonoscopy. The camera is disposable. Eventually, it will just flush away in the toilet. It does require some prep.
Hi Angiebabe333,
Thank you for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. I hate that you're experiencing these symptoms but you have to know that the cause could be many different things besides cancer. Some are very treatable with medication, diet change, and minor procedures. Blood in the stool is definitely a symptom that needs to be checked out. I'm glad to see you're getting that done and the colonoscopy is absolutely the gold standard on finding answers.
You shouldn't be surprised that you're FIT test came back positive as you said in a sample were you observed there being blood in the stool. And like I said, there could be many reasons for blood in the stool. I would also ask if you have any history of certain disease in your family? Is there a hereditary aspect to things? This would be good information for your doctor to know as it could lead to some different tests you may need.
We wish you the very best in finding answers. I have never done the “Pill Cam”. It would be interesting to hear your reaction to it. From what I see there is some prep work that needs to be done so the camera can take good pictures. It should provide information about your entire digestive tract. You should get some excellent information about what's causing your bleeding. Please let us know what you find out. Is this type of information that can be helpful to others on this site great. Also, you're experiencing the Pill Cam could be interesting information as well.
Thank you,
