Hi everyone just thought I would look see if anyone had same issues as my partner and mibi a scope came back not sinister.
Anyway for the past 12 years iv been with him he used to bleed on and off wee spells always told him to get checked as I have FAP. typical man wouldn't.....
Anyway it had been on and off alot more for the last 6 months and he has lost alot of weight (always skinny but face legs very thin)
Doctor ordered bloods and fit so bloods were all fine (don't know what was checked)but fit test is 400.
He is so paranoid looking at himself and how much weight he has lost. Tbh tho he don't eat loads and works and his weight is in the right range etc for height.
He has a scope in 6 days we're counting down the days now cant come quick enough.
Has anyone else had same symptoms weight loss blood in stool ( just clots mixed through stool) they have said can't be chrones as bloods not showing anything and his bowels only move 2x per day. He also has a sore back at the bottom but nothing to major he needs strong pain relief of even that bad he needs to take pain relief ( he hates taking tabs anyway so prob wouldnt)
I know we need to wait for scope he's convinced he's got C and that it won't be treatable won't see our 2 kids grow up dear son is 13 and our wee girl is 4.
Any advice reassurance would be brill my mind is doing over drive just wish we could sleep untill Thursday!
Thanks for reading.
Oh also they have said it's not piles hemriods.

hi there I’ve just had my operation a week ago for rectal cancer ♋️ it was in early stages T1 , I started in early January with a screening test ! Which I take every two years, they found blood in it , it’s been like a whirlwind to be honest, but so glad I had lots of blood tests scans MRI within 4 weeks I was all done , on my 9 day and feeling better every day! a bit sore in lower back, just waiting for further tests to come back but all went well the consult said, you just keep on supporting your husband and hopefully get the treatment soon , our NHS have been brilliant in my case good luck will be thinking of you 🙏🙏
Thank you for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. I hate to hear you're having to deal with this situation but believe me you're doing all the right things now. You definitely need that colonoscopy to get you some good answers. Until then you're left to speculate. I know that's unfortunate. I do like your “typical man” comment👍😁. That is very true. It is exactly what I did and hindsight being 20/20, I should have gotten things checked out much sooner.
One of the things that helped me with anxiety and worrying is being the best patient you can be. Please focus on what you can control. What is going on inside his body now will be determined from the colonoscopy. That is really not something that he is in control of right now. Focusing on getting good answers is exactly what you need to do. The colonoscopy is definitely the gold standard of getting those answers.
Some of my personal thoughts: Focus on controlling what you can control. Losing weight is not good. I would look at getting some high calorie something in his diet. There are high calorie protein shakes and high calorie ready to eat meals. If there are activities that he likes to do, he needs to continue to do them. I know that things can come up Healthwise that could stop you from your normal routine. I think maintaining that normal routine is very therapeutic to the mind. I think it's essential. For me it was always riding my bike. And there were times when I definitely could not physically do that. But getting back to riding my bike was very beneficial for me as I felt I was in control of something again. Give ground when you have to, but always take it back when you can.
Also know that there can be many things that could be causing these symptoms. Many things besides the big C. I see he is currently having to take strong pain relief and I hope you get some answers for that as well. The colonoscopy should definitely get you those good answers. Another thing to think about is if there is a family history of certain medical issues🤔. That is a good thing to know about when you visit the doctor. If something turns out to be hereditary, it may warrant the kids getting checked out as well.
We do wish you the very best in finding answers to what's going on. I see you have two beautiful children and we need to get dad on a path to being well👍💪❤️. You are doing a great job in guiding him through his symptoms. I think that's awesome. And please, after he gets his scope results, let us know. We do hope it's nothing sinister and information like that can be helpful to others on this site. We are rooting for good results and a healthy dad ASAP.

Hi everyone thought I would give u an update. He had a scope today found 2 polyps 15mm and 10mm they removed them they don't think they are cancerous sent away to the lab tho and they will need to see him again in a year. Fingers crossed they come back not cancerous. Thanks for all the advice. Hope this post helps someone else out
Yes deffo he would now be happy to be checked every year! After refusing for so long to get checked 😁 I need to get checked also I was every 6 months but now changed to every 2 years but I only have my small bowel and rectum but I think after his scare I will be pushing to be at least a year because changing from 6 months to 2 years seems a bit long for me
