18th December I noticed blood after wiping after passing a stool. 24th December it happened again but there was a lot of blood in the toilet turning the water red and blood had sprayed everywhere. Dark streaks of blood also on paper. I’m concerned about the amount of blood there was. Other symptoms include back ache, tummy ache and fatigue. I have also been investigated for IBD but have now been discharged and diagnosed with IBS- which does not cause bleeding. Any advice much appreciated. X

Hi Alicejane94,
Thank you for posting on colon cancer connected. I hate to see you have this going on. You said you've been investigated for IBD what was diagnosed with IBS. Was that done since December 18th? I am glad to see you are taking action to find out what's going on and causing these symptoms.
There can be a lot of things that can cause bleeding. I would think you would definitely want to schedule an appointment with your doctor to get these issues sorted out. There are several tests that can help find the cause for the bleeding. One of the best is the colonoscopy. But there are other tests that can be performed prior to getting that. You also have other things to get checked out like the back ache, tummy ache and fatigue. All of these are topics of conversation you should have with your doctor.
There could be many things that could be causing this and you need to have this narrowed down so you know what to focus on. It's worth getting it checked out by professional. Until you do that it would be just left to speculating what's going on.
We do wish you all the best in finding out some answers to your symptoms. Getting answers should be your focus so your mind doesn't start wandering about what may be happening to you. Getting things narrowed down and catching things early are key. Please let us know what you discover as this type of information can be helpful to others on this site.
Thank You,

Hello Alicejane 94,
I’m sorry to hear about your symptoms. I pretty much had very similar symptoms as you a few months ago and was worried sick about it. I did end up going for colonoscopy in August and they find two small polyps which were sent for biopsy which came back normal. I was told that my bleeding was from hemorrhoids and stomach pain was caused by my IBS. I was also advised to take probiotics daily. Please try not to worry too much and hope this helps.
