But they wanted me to monitor and come back 5 years after for another colonoscopy. Doctor said i also have internal hemorrhoids. But my question is when i had bowel movement 2 days after colonoscopy this is what looks like. Do you guys know what is this? Sorry for the photo

Hi Joyaaah,

Thank you for posting on colon cancer connected. I'm sorry to hear you're having to deal with these symptoms but I'm very glad to see you got them checked out quickly. You obviously had a colonoscopy and had some polyps removed that came back negative for cancer. That's awesome news. One question you may want to ask is there a hereditary element in your family for some gastro issues? Being asked to come back and five years to get checked out and make sure things are still OK is probably a good path to beyond. Polyps can be a key indicator of things that can turn into more serious issues. so I would say being on a 5 year surveillance is not a big deal considering what it can tell you and the Peace of Mind can also provide you.

As far as what your bowel movement looks like two days after having a colonoscopy I must say I've seen far stranger things. :) As a part of my surveillance for colon cancer I get an annual colonoscopy an annual CT scan and blood work. I also get an endoscopy every three years. And in preparations for those procedures you have to get cleaned out. I know for me it takes a while to get back to normal and my normal changes quite often depending on what I eat and how much of it I eat. So seeing strange bowel movements is not a new thing for me. I would say that if it doesn't return back to normal after getting back to your normal routine after a week or so you could get it checked out by a doctor. There are lots of tests to see what's going on with poo and there can be a whole host of many things going on that could be causing it.

Overall, I am glad you got this checked out and are now on some kind of a surveillance that can be very beneficial to finding things early and taking action if necessary. I wouldn't overthink it. I think you are far better off knowing and staying ahead of anything that may come up during the colonoscopy.

We do wish you all the best in the future and especially with your future surveillance every five years. I also hope your bowel movements return to normal as soon as possible. I am so very glad you got this checked out.👍 The knowledge of polyps is a good thing to know. I myself am a stage 4 colon cancer survivor and I remember my oncologist telling me that the tumor they removed from my colon was a polyp six years prior to that😲. So I think you're doing very well and you wish you a very healthy future.

Thank You,
