Did you have a colonoscopy? It is the only way to see what is in your colon. You say a scan but normally if they find anything you still have a colonoscopy. Also a fit test will pick up blood in your faeces. Because I also had pain I had a CT scan of the pelvis as well. Polyps removed , diverticulosis, internal haemorrhoids. No cancer. So it can be many things but you are seeing your consultant so that is the best thing you can do.

Hi Dogs4321,

Thank you for posting on colon cancer connected. Hate to see you're having to deal with this ongoing symptom even after two years of a benign diagnosis. I'm also glad to see you are having an endoscopy and a colonoscopy scheduled to get you some better answers. That's exactly what you need to be focusing on. What seemed to be OK two years ago has been resurrected into something else, so you were doing the very best thing to get answers. Catching things early is key. I'm glad to see you're jumping on this.

You mentioned that part of your symptoms is a rectal bleed. So, having a fit test would come back positive and if you have that done don't be shocked by the results. The pain and nausea you are experiencing should be able to be determined with the colonoscopy or endoscopy you're having done. There is another test that can be performed called a Galleri test. This is a simple blood test that can detect cancers in the bloodstream. When you have cancer it tends to shed dead cells into the bloodstream and this test can detect that. This test can detect over 50 types of cancer. So there are other things that can be done to help your situation and get you some good answers.

I myself am a stage 4 colon cancer survivor. Abdominal pain was the key symptom that I had to get checked out. I ended up having a CT scan to determine that. That's another test that you may be asked to do. As a part of my surveillance for the rest of my life, I get an annual colonoscopy and an annual CT scan. I also get blood work annually and every three years have an endoscopy. So some of these surveillance procedures can become part of your life to obtain good answers and obtain them early.

We do wish you the very best in finding answers quickly. Please keep us up to speed as to the procedures that you have done and what you can find out from them. That type of information can prove to be beneficial to others who may be experiencing the same types of symptoms.
