I’ve never had problems with having a hernia for years. I recently have been filling the toilet bowl with blood bright red. No pains, with and without hard or soft stools. My colonoscopy was clear I had 2 tiny polyps that were removed. And I keep being told to eat greens and drink water. Should I go for a second opinion?

Hi Sunshyne23,
Welcome to HealthUnlocked and thanks for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. Hate you are having to deal with this but proud you are in search of answers. Blood in the stool is always a sign to get answers for. You got the colonoscopy and took out some polyps (awesome). You've ruled out a lot of things with the colonoscopy👍, yet we still do have definitive answers to the bleeding. Not the colon, then maybe the upper GI tract / stomach area. That would mean an endoscopy to take a look. Is there a family history with these symptoms? I would think you'd want to know.
I know when I was going through my colon cancer fight, I got lots of colonoscopies and that continues now annually as a part of my surveillance to catch things early. I have a hereditary cancer called Lynch Syndrome. However, when my 'duodenum' started to stricture (first part of the small intestine right out of the stomach), I had to get endoscopies as the symptom was low iron and bleeding from somewhere. I ended up having an ulcer there and we now new what to treat to help me out.
Eating greens and drinking water may help in the long run, but I think we still need the answer to why the bleeding so we can get some peace of mind remove any speculating thoughts.🤔
We do wish you the very best in getting answers. Please let us know what you decide to do as that type of information can be helpful to others as well.
Thank You,

Thankyou so much for a reply. I definitely will look into the endoscopies I’ve never heard of it. I’m definitely worried and want to catch it early. Due to the fact all the women literally ALL of them died from cancer. Not sure what type though.
The same doctor that did you colonoscopy would also do the endoscopy. This one goes down your throat to check things out. I get an endoscopy every 3 years as a part of my surveillance. It's really no big deal.👍
Are you saying women in your family have died from cancer? If so, I would definitely share that with your doctor and ask about genetic testing to see what's going on with your biomarkers.😁 It's always good to know early.
